Aramco partners Fridge Restock Community to reduce food wastage in Singapore on International Volunteer Day

Aramco employees and their family members volunteered with FRC on International Volunteer Day, supporting a food rescue mission.
On 5 December 2025, 28 volunteers comprising Aramco employees and their family members participated in the 500th food rescue and distribution mission organized by Fridge Restock Community (FRC) to mark International Volunteer Day. This joint effort successfully rescued approximately 3.2 tonnes of food, which was distributed to around 350 households in Singapore as part of ongoing efforts to combat food wastage.
Food waste is a growing challenge in Singapore. Since its founding in 2020, FRC has rescued more than 1,600 tonnes of food from going to waste. The rescued produce from FRC reaches an estimated 6,700 households islandwide each month, supplying local communities with fresh fruits and vegetables that would otherwise be thrown away.
As part of the mission, Aramco employees and their family members supported FRC by collecting rescued produce from Pasir Panjang Wholesale Center before transporting them to Boon Lay distribution site. Together with volunteers from the local community and River Valley High School, Aramco employees distributed the produce to residents in the Boon Lay area.

Through their hands-on participation, Aramco employees also learnt about the importance of reducing food waste and supporting vulnerable communities. These efforts align with Aramco’s broader commitment to building a resilient and sustainable future, particularly in strengthening the nexus between food and energy security.
Mr Ayman M. Hoho, Managing Director of Aramco Singapore said, “Aramco’s joint effort with FRC highlights the importance of addressing food wastage and delivering a positive impact to the local community, so we can create a more sustainable food ecosystem. Every contribution, big or small, strengthens the spirit of community, and Aramco is heartened to be a part of this effort so we can make a meaningful difference."
